1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online No. P2049394-08/23 on 9th August 2023 and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website.
2. The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) has received financing from the African Development Bank hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Banjul Port 4th Expansion Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for design, build and supply of one (1) new green ferry. “For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing, except for those payments, which the contract provides to be made through letter of credit.”
3. The Gambia Ports Authority now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for design, build and supply of one (1) new green ferry within 16 months.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), (OCBI) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from General Manager at the Gambia Ferries Services Company Limited, No 34 Liberation Avenue, P.M.B 617 Banjul the Gambia West Africa, Email: [email protected], [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] and inspect the bidding document during office hours 08:00 to 16:00 hours Mondays to Thursdays and 08:00 to 12:30 hours Fridays at 34 Liberation Avenue, Banjul the Gambia, West Africa at the address given below.
6. The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of GMD10,000.00 or its USD equivalent to the following account details:

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 12:00 noon GMT on 27th October 2023. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below.
8. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD400,000.00
